Latest Updates from Our Project:

A Very Quick Update
over 4 years ago – Mon, Oct 21, 2019 at 03:11:15 AM

Chris has been working on the DVD. I just got done proofing it and it looks good to me.

We had been wanting to put Spanish Language CC on the movie. We thought we would have that ready sooner, so we put Gift Delivery on hold as we waited. Due to a delay on the Spanish CC's we felt it would be best to move on and just get everyone their Gifts ASAP. Those of you in spanish speaking countries - fear not. We will do an updated DVD with those CC's and you will get a free one when those are finished. We just need a bit more time to get those completed.

We've tried to fix the titles and credits to the best of our ability, we expect there will be one or two small typos and errors that slipped through. But it's time to pull the trigger on this DVD and get it pressed.

One cool thing Chris did was to include a long piece of music on the DVD Menu. So you can sample an entire score piece by simply leaving the DVD on the menu page. Unlike most DVD's it just plays and plays…

Also, you can expect the bonus DVD, which although just a small portion of the footage we shot should come out to over 2 hours of raw interview footage, much of which does not appear in this feature.

As we draw closer to shipping we will try to keep you posted with more updates.

We're really proud to be the first to complete a history of RGPs. As many of you know, many have tried and many have failed to deliver.

We are also very thankful to all of you for sticking with us on this long journey.

As always, tell your friends about the film and share links on social media. If we can make this film a success, we will be able to do a follow up film.

English Closed Captions Now Available for Secrets of Blackmoor!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Sep 03, 2019 at 12:17:41 AM

We've just attached English Closed Captions to the online streaming VOD. You can turn them on by clicking the "CC" button and checking "English (United States)".

Although the initial CC track looks very good, we may need to make some corrections on it after a more thorough review.

We hope you enjoy!

Cheers,

Chris and Griff

Update on DVD/Blu-ray and Closed Captioning
over 4 years ago – Thu, Aug 29, 2019 at 01:40:06 AM

We've found the company to provide us with Closed Captioning and they are working on it as I write this. Once we get the transcript, around September 5th, we're sending the film off to be translated into Spanish, so we have both an English and Spanish captioning tracks. Once that's done, we'll be able to send off the discs to be be pressed.

Thanks for your support and patience!

You Were the First to See the Movie - Yet We Still Need Your Help
over 4 years ago – Mon, Aug 26, 2019 at 01:31:27 AM

We Need Your Help.

You've seen the movie. Did you like the movie, did you hate the movie? Why?

The movie project has entered the next stage of its life. We need to sell a lot of copies of the film just to make back what we personally invested.

Before we even considered doing a Kickstarter, we spent a lot of our own money in order to travel and get interviews and create rough edits of the film. We still have hundreds of hours of unseen footage.

Do you want to see more interviews of the Blackmoor Bunch talking about their adventures? Would you like to see a follow up movie with more detailed stories from the people who played in the first ever RPG's?

This movie project is very much like when D&D was originally published. It's a small company making something with great passion and it's relying on gamers to promote the end product. It can't sell itself. The small company doesn't have a huge budget to market the film either - Does this sound familiar?

We've done a lot of "flying from the seat of your pants" sales work on the web. The response has been both positive and extremely negative.

We can't go to gamer forums and post about our own movie; we've tried and the moderators delete our posts. They're actually a bit mean about and seem to revel in shutting us down. We can't name any out of respect… DragonsFoot! -- OOPS!

Many of you are on a variety of social media platforms as well as game forums.

Make a quick post and insert this link:

http://movie.secretsofblackmoor.com/

Then come back here and link us to your post, we might want to go and respond to discussions about the movie.

Also, we're a bit busy working on fulfilling our commitment to you, our KickStarter Backers. There are DVD's to be made and other goodies to be packaged up for shipping.

We aren't a big company, it's literally just Chris and Griff doing everything they can to make this project come to completion. From the very first moment that this project was conceived, it has been a fan based effort. This movie would not exist without all of you. Over a thousand of you have pledged support. Are you willing to level up your commitment and spread the word?

Go to your favorite online gamer hangouts and tell them what you think of Secrets of Blackmoor.

We can't do it without you.

Thank you,

Chris and Griff

We've released the Video On Demand for Secrets of Blackmoor.

This is the "Find a Flaw" version. We want your feedback. If you see a glitch or something that looks bad, please let us know. If your name was supposed to be in the credits, and it isn't there, or if it's misspelled - let us know. If you see something that is an obvious glitch - let us know. We'd like to hear from you, our intrepid Kickstarter Supporters, before we commit this permanently to DVD and Blu-Ray in the next 4 days (through August 22nd).

Regardless whether we need to make a correction here or there, the link sent in the email from Backerkit is where you will find your permanent VOD of SOB. We'll update the file there if there are any changes.

One final note - look for an email from "backerkit.com" with the subject line "New Digital Content for SECRETS of BLACKMOOR: The True History of Dungeons & Dragons"

Now we can get to work on sending out the rest of the stuff.

Cheers!
