Latest Updates from Our Project:

It's Time to Get Flat!
about 2 months ago – Sat, Mar 23, 2019 at 01:50:39 AM

A lot of what happens in film making doesn't really help us show you that we are making great strides toward a completed film.

We have all of our interview clips selected and it's time to collapse everything onto one layer as we prepare the video we will send to our colorist Michael Lauter in L.A.

I tend to be a really sloppy editor, as I like to see lots of stacked layers on a timeline. I use that to navigate through a project. The little clusters of things show me where things are, and my edits end up looking like games of Tetris - call it a quirk of mine. :P

However, like Tetris, it's time to remove some rows, so we can "win" the game (unlike Tetris, there's a clear victory condition in filmmaking that ends the game)

The image doesn't really tell you much, but it's a big step forward.

Up next will be the dialogue and narration all prepped to send to Moscow for Alex to do the sound design.

It is exciting to think that we've gotten a chance to work with people all over the world on this project.

We finished recording the real narration track last night. This will replace the scratch narration track you heard on the XMas Day Draft Screeners, and the 35 Minute Gary Con Draft.  Just for fun, we shot a behind-the-scenes video of the start of the session - where we ask the questions: Should we do 24bit, or 32bit? WAV file? 48khz? -12db or -20db? ...

So many options come up during post production: Should we do all the narration in a Death Metal Cookie Monster Voice?

What do you think?

Special thanks to Dannon our Recording Engineer for the super clean sound, and Ivy our Editor - she became the Voice Over Producer for the night and got to boss Griff around.

The Backer Surveys are 93% complete! If you haven't answered your survey, please retrieve your link here:

While it was cold, we vectorized!
3 months ago – Mon, Feb 04, 2019 at 11:20:25 PM

Our guy Ryan in Minneapolis spent some quality time indoors last week vectorizing maps and other sundries to make them available for animations. Here he's doing one  from First Fantasy Campaign . A short video with dramatic music (part of our score, by Alex Kharlamov)-  20 minutes of work compressed into 20 seconds.

Griff continues to work on adding covering footage to the  edit, and we've got our post-sound engineer and colorist hired.

The  final manuscript of Tonisborg is getting proofed. Once that's done, I'll be starting the layout on the book (typesetting, pagination, placing art).

Thanks for your support. We're excited to get this stuff to you. We'll have an announcement about an "extra" for Tonisborg in a few days.
