Latest Updates from Our Project:

We just pushed out codes for the VOD!
13 days ago – Tue, May 07, 2019 at 02:45:05 AM

We just sent out codes to everybody that was supposed to get a VOD of the full movie. This is to make sure that all of our supporters have a chance to see the movie before the World Premiere in Minneapolis on Wednesday, May 8th (7:30pm). Look for the email!

This is the same version we're screening at the premiere, but since it is the first time we're seeing it on the big screen - we'll get to see the mistakes loud and tall - so once we get back from the Twin Cities (where we'll be shooting a few interviews for Secrets of Blackmoor: Volume 2) we'll correct them, and update the file for the VOD - and then we can get the DVD's and Blu Rays mastered right after that.

We hope you enjoy the VOD - and for those that get the bonus of seeing their name in the credits - let us know if we got anything wrong!

Also, we're hoping to tape the Q&A after the screening, and we'll post it for all our supporters to see in the next week.

Thanks for your support,

Chris and Griff

Sound mix is almost done! VOD will be available in a few days!
18 days ago – Thu, May 02, 2019 at 12:38:08 AM

Here's another "behind the scenes" look at Flysound, the company doing the sound post-production on Secrets of Blackmoor. You can see why we hired them. They are serious about sound! (Somebody get the phone!). They just sent us the latest draft of the sound mix, and we are 99% there.

Once we get the final sound, we'll be able to marry it with the completed video and get those VOD codes out to everybody who is supposed to get one (by early next week!). After the screening on Wednesday, we'll be able to see if there are any tweaks or corrections needed (it's hard to miss mistakes when they're on the big screen), and then we can get those DVD's and Blu-Ray's made. We can also update the VOD file if needed.

Thanks for your support!

DCP (Digital Cinema Package) Testing
20 days ago – Tue, Apr 30, 2019 at 12:19:19 AM

Just got back from doing our DCP (Digital Cinema Package) test at the Sie Film Center in Denver.

It’s looking good!

Our friendly neighborhood cinema expert, Randall Harper, nailed it on the first try (he provided 3 samples - the first one was what he knew was the winner, the other two were just in case). If you make films, save Randall's addy:

This will enable us to make DCP’s, VOD’s (Video On Demand) and DVD’s from the same file (sorry, no VHS, or Kinetoscope ;)).

Almost there!

Post Production Update, and World Premiere Screening date
26 days ago – Wed, Apr 24, 2019 at 12:52:52 AM

Here's some behind-the-scenes shots of the crew at Flysound working on the sound post-production for Secrets of Blackmoor. We're getting close to the release of the VOD, DVD's, and Blu ray's for our Kickstarter supporters, and working on that DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for the World Premiere screening in Minneapolis on May 8th as part of the Twin Cities Film Festival Insider Series. (Tickets available here).

Since the DCP and VOD use the exact same file, we'll be able to deliver your VOD  access before the World Premiere screening - so you'll be the first to see it.

Meanwhile, Griff and Ivy are busy editing in the animations of many of the photos and documents (covering footage), Chris has finished the post-color work, and is now focusing on the credits - we've got about 200 "Special Thanks" to put in for those at that reward level. There are some interesting names in there - we love it!

Thanks for your support!

Color Work is Nearly Complete! Here’s a “Before and After” Video.
about 2 months ago – Tue, Apr 02, 2019 at 02:02:50 AM

The color work for the film is almost done. Here’s a video of the “Before and After”. For those of you who saw the online videos or the GaryCon screening, the faded, flat look of the raw video will be familiar. Hopefully the (almost finished) look of the “after” will be surprising. Although that first shot of John Arneson (Dave Arneson’s father) still needs a little work. We’re almost there! We greatly appreciate your support!
